Privacy policy

Your information.
Handled with care.

How this website prepares an enquiry, what happens when you send it and how to raise a privacy question.

Who is responsible?

Belmax Builders Limited, company number 12311600, is responsible for personal information it receives through project enquiries. Contact rob@belmaxbuilders.com or call 07964 605624 with a privacy question.

What information is involved?

The enquiry page asks for a project type, a town or postcode, your name and optional project details. If you send the message, your email address or WhatsApp number and any information you add in that app will also be available to Belmax. Please do not include financial, medical or other sensitive information in the initial enquiry.

How the enquiry page works

Answers are held in the current page while you fill it in. This website does not submit them to a form database or deliberately save them in browser storage. You can review the message and choose to open WhatsApp or your email app. Opening WhatsApp passes the prepared text to that service; opening email passes it to your email application. You decide whether to press send. Your browser may temporarily restore form entries through its own autofill or page recovery features.

Why Belmax uses enquiry information

Information in a message is used to understand your proposed work, respond to you and discuss a quotation or project. Where you ask for steps towards a building contract, the relevant basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract. General correspondence may instead rely on the legitimate interest of answering questions and managing the business. Project and financial records may need to be kept to meet legal obligations.

Who else may receive information

The email or messaging service you choose handles the message under its own privacy terms. If a project progresses, Belmax may share relevant information with the professionals or contractors involved, or with professional advisers where necessary. Social and directory links are ordinary links, not embedded feeds.

Retention and security

Belmax keeps enquiry information only for as long as it is needed to answer the enquiry, manage a resulting project or meet legal record-keeping requirements. The retention period depends on whether the enquiry becomes a project and whether records are needed for an unresolved complaint, claim or legal obligation. Access is limited to people who need the information for those purposes.

Cookies and website services

This website does not use advertising trackers or cookies. It counts contact taps: when you press a call, email or WhatsApp button, it records which button, the page, which article on this site you read first if any, the type of device and the kind of site that referred your visit (for example a search engine). Clicks on the contact buttons inside articles are counted the same way. To do that, the page you first arrived on, the first article you read and that referrer are held in your browser tab for the length of the visit and cleared when you close it. No name, contact detail, message text or identifier is recorded, and nothing you type into the enquiry form is sent. Sitework, which builds and maintains this website, receives these counts to report how the website is performing. Fonts and photographs are served with the site. The website host may process technical information such as an IP address, requested page and time of access to deliver and protect the service. If analytics, embedded feeds or other services are added, this notice and any consent controls will be updated.

International processing

The email, WhatsApp and website-hosting providers used for enquiries and delivery may process information in other countries. Their privacy terms explain where they operate and the safeguards they use. See WhatsApp’s privacy policy for the messaging service.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct or erase your information, restrict its use or receive a portable copy. You also have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. If consent is used for any additional purpose, it can be withdrawn. Contact Belmax using the details above to make a request. This website does not make automated decisions about you.

Questions or complaints

You can raise a concern with Belmax first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, through ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
